Accidently on Purpose

And

i wish it was raining
i want to drown
like Ophelia--
shakespeare knew
it gets so hard to listen to
the same broken soundtrack
of wondering whether to be.

And

my wrists are too perfect
unmarred and white
i’m sorry, stoic
i’m coming, i’m coming,
wait for me, I’m coming.

And

i’d kill for a killing cigarette
typing with one finger because it
goes slower
the noise patters
but doesn’t end the
vicious sounds
of my mother
brother
father screaming

And

i hide the bottles in my room
i hide the razor in my desk
i hide the pills in my bed stand

And

I know
i can go
i don’t need the angels
i don’t need any help
i need to go away

And

it needs to rain
so i can drown

And

they can all say,

“it was an accident
the water filled her lungs.
in her amazement
she didn’t shut her mouth
as she gazed longingly at the sky”
I wrote this in 2004, and did a little polishing on it today. I think I can finally submit it, lol.

Again, you've hit the barbed needle on the head with this one. I'm glad you felt this one was up to snuff, lol We know how stingy you are with some of your unreleased masterpieces. ;)
